Better utilisation of human and natural resources would make the country strong and powerful. Every problem has an answer.

Our responsibility is to arrive at it. Moreover, nature is bountiful and youth should utilise available resources properly, said Tamil Nadu Agriculture University Professor, Ponnaiah in his keynote address at a workshop on "Youth as a forceful drive in healthy environment," organised by Arulmigu Palaniandavar Arts College for Women in Palani recently.

The main objective of the workshop was to inculcate environmental protection and conservation in the minds of youth. Nature educator P. Kandasamy insisted on importance of preserving environment.

Principal G. Themozhi welcomed the gathering. Former Principal S. Muthulakshmi delivered the valedictory address.

Computer literacy was a must to make students employable and help them compete in the highly competitive job market.

All students should learn computer and obtain knowledge of Information Technology, said H.K.R.H. College Professor Mohammad Jaffer at a seminar on e-commerce held at Nadar Sarsawathi College of Arts and Science recently.

E-commerce not only expedited commercial transactions but also helped reaching consumers easily and quickly, he said.

Alagappa University in Karaikudi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kyungpook National University, South Korea, for research collaborations in the area of Nanoscience and Technology. While Dr. P.Kanniappan inked the MoU on behalf of Alagappa University, Dr. Dal Ung Kim, President of Kyungpook National University, signed it on behalf of the university recently.

Mr. Kanniappan, who returned from South Korea, said the MoU would help the university develop research in the field of Nanoscience and Technology.

This would enable both institutions to exchange faculty, research scholars, students for undertaking joint research programmes on education, research and exchange of publications and information.

The second graduation day of Pandian Saraswathi Yadav Engineering College was held recently. P.R. Athappan, Head, School of Chemistry, Madurai Kamaraj University, delivered the graduation address and distributed degrees to students.

He stressed the need to improve creative, techno, entrepreneurial and leadership skills to reach a better position in the society.

Now-a-days the fear of running out of all our energy resources is the new buzz which is going around.  The main reason for this energy crisis is over consumption of energy resources. If this problem is overlooked now then our future generations will be deprived of the basic amenity like electricity.
